Report
If you know me, you would know that I am not what you would consider an overly emotional type of person. I am one who will clown around about almost anything, but as I stood on the battleground at Prairie Grove, Arkansas I couldn’t joke, there was no taking light the history of this once bloody battleground. Young men fought each other to the death in an area that in some cases was no larger than your yard. Regardless of the uniform they wore, they were American men and the battle was ferocious. In the end more than 300 men died on the grounds of this battle that lasted 4 days in December 1862. In total the death toll would be much greater as those who were mortally wounded died in the surrounding hospitals. It is not my intention to give you a history lesson because there are many historians who can do that much better than I can. I just want to convey to you how this investigation impacted my team and me. If you would like to know the actual historical statistics of the battle please check out these websites.

We arrived at the Prairie Grove Battlefield Memorial Park at 3pm and enjoyed walking around the park taking pictures and reading the signs. We were invited to join Paranormal Ozarks Investigations (POI) from Springdale, Arkansas who had arranged with the park to do this investigation. It is illegal to be in the park after hours without proper authorization. We had a cookout and got to know each other better and waited for the park to clear out. For the investigation we split into three teams and divided the park into three zones. This is what we noticed during our rotations.
Zone 1 The Battlefield
We set out on our rotation to the lower battlefield area and the well where it had reported sightings of soldiers standing by it. On the path on the way several of our investigators heard what sounded like distant gunfire, interestingly enough this is the same area where POI on an earlier investigation said they had heard sounds like a horse galloping. We continued down the pathway that lead to the well and started our EVP session. We had decided to call on a single soldiers name to see if we could get a response from him or someone who knew him. At one point while we were there at the well Tina and Robbin had walked a little further up the path and Don, Mick and I stayed by the well. Don had taken a picture into the trees and seen something the he and I went to investigate. While Tina and Robbin were away they had seen Don and my flashlight and in that light had seen two other people, there were only three of us there at the time but they counted four. After a while later we continued down the path to the main battlefield and Don and I had heard a sound like a soldiers “pack” hitting the ground, immediately afterwards I seen a shadow back in the direction of the well look as if it were moving towards the hill. A few minutes later Tina had seen another moving away from the hill.
Zone 2 The Orchard and Borden House
On our second rotation we set out to investigate the Borden House and the Orchard area. The battle raged on in this zone as well and many of the dead lined the fences in what I would consider the most intense area. We stopped first in an area where we were told a field hospital was set up and conducted an EVP session, during this time we had thought we had seen some movement but could not be sure due to the lights around and trees. After a while in this area we moved to the Borden house and continued our investigation. At one point I was standing behind the house in the orchard side of the fence line, Tina was standing between the house and me taking pictures of it. In the flash I had seen someone standing about 12 feet to her left. In her second flash I did not see anything that I could have mistaken for a person. As we were wearing safety green shirts and very bright I know this was not one of us standing there.
Zone 3 The Village Area
Our third rotation was in the village area and centered mainly in the church area and the schoolhouse. While here we had no experiences, the whole area seemed still.
Conclusion
I am not sure that there will ever be a conclusion about this or any battlefield. I know that there is a sense of sadness about the area that I would attribute to knowing the history of the place. I am not gifted with any sort of sensitive or psychic ability, but if I did I am sure I would do nothing more than cry. I would strongly encourage you to visit this park and take a walk around and get to know the history of this battle and the men who fought it.
As far as audio goes the short clip we have below will explain a lot as to why we didn't get anything we could keep as evidence. Of the few pieces we did obtain they were so hard to hear we must consider them questionable at best. We hope to go back someday under better circumstances.
